The number one important feature of any car seat should be the SAFETY RATING! We checked Consumer Reports before buying our car seat and this car seat was the ONLY convertible car seat that was rated “excellent” for crash protection. Safer than Britax, Graco, First Years, Combi, etc. I was quite surprised that it was rated so safe considering the fact that it really is a bare bones car seat. It’s not very soft & cushiony (but hey, neither is our daughter’s papasan swing and she’s been napping comfortably in that thing for 7 months!) and it was a little more difficult to install than the car seat that we’re using in our other car (the Combi Coccoro). But seriously, who cares, it’s all about safety and this car seat is safe. Just make sure when you’re installing it backwards to keep the level line horizontal and it will help you install easier; if the line’s not level the seat will be moving around way too much.

I was really wary when I read the reviews before buying this seat, because people had mentioned lack of cushioning, and difficulty of adjusting the straps. But this car seat was so much cheaper than everything else out there, I got it anyway – and I’m so glad I did!

As for lack of cushioning, maybe it has less than other models out there, but it’s plenty for my little one. Also, it makes for very easy clean-up. Face it, at some point or other, your kid is going to throw up ALL OVER the car seat (or worse, diarrhea). When that happens, you’ll be so happy you bought this car seat because it is very easy to just pull off the cover and throw it in the washing machine, and all that’s left to do is wipe off the plastic base.

As for the difficulty adjusting the straps, I’m not sure what other reviewers were referring to. I have had no problems at all in pushing the little button to loosen them or pull them tight, which we do every time we get in or out. The safest way to use a car seat is to pull the straps so tight that you have to loosen them just to get them off (but not so tight that your baby is noticeably uncomfortable).

My favorite feature about this car seat is the safety rating. As an educated parent, I worry every time we get in the car because I know how dangerous it is to be on the road. With this car seat, I worry just a little bit less.

My second favorite feature about this car seat is the view. This is probably a feature of every convertible seat as contrasted with an infant seat, but I wish I had started with a convertible and skipped the infant seat altogether (especially since we are baby-wearers and rarely took the infant seat out of the car anyway). Once we got our baby into a convertible (she grew out of her infant seat), she could suddenly see out not only the back window, but the sides as well, and she could even turn her head to see the driver. Car rides suddenly became a lot more bearable.

My one gripe with this car seat is the cup holder. We hadn’t even used it yet when the little plastic piece that holds it on snapped in two. So if you really need a reliable cup holder, this car seat is not for you.

Overall this is good seat. It is light weight and seems pretty sturdy. However, the turbobooster comes in many models, of which it is difficult to tell the subtle differences. I bought this one because the description says it comes with the Gracopedic luxury foam on the seat and padded side pillows. But contrary to the item description, this does not come with the side pillows.

Babies R Us offers similar models with both the upgraded seat and side pillows–they are called Abbey or Roanoke. This is the only model that comes with the neck pillow.

I am very happy with this purchase. I am a Britax Mommy and have been since my son was born but just so happened to check Consumer Reports before I purchased his “Big Boy” seat and was glad I did.

This seat is actually several models but this one that I purchased allows for the back of the seat to detach when they are older and no longer need the back. It also comes with a neck pillow. Unfortunately I did not get this in my box and simply called GRACO and they sent one right out to me. Excellent customer service!

My son is not yet 3 years old but exceeds the mandatory weight and height limits to use the seat. He is not a large child but fits perfectly in it. I have posted his photo in the seat so that you can judge for yourself on the sizing.

From one Britax mother to another don’t spend the extra money on the name. Britax did not even make the Consumer Reports list. I am pleased and I am also very concerned with my son’s safety that is why I always purchased Britax. This time GRACO came out tops!

As far as my son being comfortable he is able to be free in his seat and still be safe. He can reach his toys and he can also nap comfortably. He dies not complain at all now that we have the new seat. I personally made a wise decision. The seat also fits great in my Xterra and both cup holders on the seat can be pulled out with east for snacks and drinks. I am however worried about cleaning them when they get dirty. It looks as if it will be a tedious job.

It has more padding then the Cosco Scenera for about the same price. It also can be adjusted to recline. It has high sides also and tested well in crash test. I would recommend it highly at this price point. I want my girl to be comfrortable without her head flopping forward well sleeping, which evidently happens in the Scenera.

We got this as a second car seat, and I’m satisfied with it for the price but if we had paid more I would have returned it.

My daughter seems comfortable in it, and I love that at 18mths she’s only on the second of 4 shoulder strap settings and the first of 2 lap settings. It seems like it might have been too roomy if she had been much younger though.

Flaw #1: The cup holder is cheap and flimsy, and completely useless to us as the ring folds down when she tries to get her cup into it. I wouldn’t trust a fast food cup in it at all.

Flaw #2: this is actually a major irritation to me – the big red release button for the harness takes 2-3 tries for both my husband and I to open, which gets old when you’re running to several places and keep having to fight with it. Her other car seat manages to be difficult for her to press while easy for our thumbs to get it on the first try.

Flaw #3: there isn’t a lot of room in the strap loosening space. I’ve got a cut on the top of my thumb from pulling it out too quickly.

Flaw #4: The most important flaw is that even when I put my knee in the seat with all my weight on it (over 180 pounds) and tighten the anchors as much as I can it still lifts off the seat. It’s good and steady when shaken side to side, but there is a disturbing amount of give when I lift the front. I’ve installed many car seats without this being a problem, but am concerned enough that I am taking this one to be inspected. If they can fix the issue for me I’ll point it out in the review.

For the most part these are minor flaws, mostly irritations rather than actual problems, and this is a great car seat. My daughter doesn’t complain when she’s in it or show any signs of discomfort.

Especially considering the price it is a great deal.

My three year old daughter and I love this seat! It was easy to put together and it’s easy to install. It takes much less time to buckle her in now than with her forward-facing car seat. I was disappointed that the pink lemonade pattern wasn’t sold in stores, but it was the same price on Amazon as another pattern would have been at the store. It isn’t printed on the box or on any description I could find online, but the height/weight requirements are printed in the instructions. They are: with backrest: 30-100 pounds AND 38-57 inches tall. Without backrest: 40-100 pounds AND 40-57 inches tall. They must also be three years old. It would be helpful if all of this information was on the box.

We already owned two graco turboboosters with backs, which are also fine. However, we found that the evenflo big kid had a much better ease of use rating with the National Highway Transportation Safety administration. In addition, the seat has more padding and the dual cupholder/snack trays have great capacity for drinks, snacks, and rock collections.
