This policy explains what information Ben's Toy Chest collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website (www.benstoychest.com), messages you send to our Facebook Page or Instagram account, and our Ben's Toy Chest AI messaging app. Ben's Toy Chest is based in Brooksville, Florida.

Information we collect

When you contact us or offer a collection

When you use a form on this site, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address, phone number, your message, and any photos of items you upload.

When you message us on Facebook or Instagram

When you send a message to the Ben's Toy Chest Facebook Page or to @bens.toy.chest on Instagram, we receive the message and any attachments, along with the public profile details Meta shares with businesses you message, such as your name, profile picture, and an ID that is specific to our Page. We use our Ben's Toy Chest AI app to view and reply to these messages in one inbox. We also receive comments you leave on our posts.

When you browse this site

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, and the Meta Pixel to measure our Facebook and Instagram ads. These tools use cookies and similar technology to collect information such as the pages you view, your device and browser, and roughly where you are. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland start with these tools off, and the Meta Pixel does not load at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

When you buy from us

Purchases are made through our online store, our eBay store, or during our live auctions. Payment details are handled by those platforms, not by us, and their own privacy policies apply.

How we use it

  • To answer your questions and messages.
  • To review items or collections you offer to sell us.
  • To tell you about auctions and items when you have asked us to.
  • To run, measure and improve our website and our advertising.
  • To protect against fraud and spam.

We may use software tools, including AI-assisted tools, to organize incoming messages and help draft replies. A member of our team is responsible for what we send.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only for that purpose:

  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), for messages, posts and ads.
  • Google, for website analytics.
  • Web Education Services, the company that builds and operates this website and our messaging app, along with its hosting and email delivery providers.
  • Shopify and eBay, when you buy from us on those platforms.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and form submissions for as long as we need them to deal with your request, keep a record of a purchase or sale, or meet legal obligations. After that we delete them.

Deleting your data

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. This includes messages you have sent us on Facebook or Instagram and anything we received through our Ben's Toy Chest AI app.

  1. Email info@benstoychest.com with the subject "Data deletion request", or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram asking us to delete your data.
  2. Tell us the name, email address, or Facebook or Instagram account you used to contact us, so we can find your records.
  3. We will confirm your request and delete your information within 30 days, except anything we are legally required to keep, such as sales records.

Deleting your data with us does not delete the copy of the conversation that stays in your own Facebook or Instagram account. You can remove that in the Facebook or Instagram app.

Children

This site and our messaging are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
